Question: Can melted butter be refrigerated back into a solid?
I ended up melting too much butter, now I don't know what to do with it. Can I refrigerate the extra back into solid butter?

Yes, but it will be different.

When it sets there will be a bit of liquid on the bottom. That is water and milk solids. The fat/butter that is left is basically clarified burrer.



It is possible.
Just make sure that it's in a container shape that you prefer.
However, be warned - it will look either fattier or possible have a diluted or strong taste once it is a solid again.



yes that's the way to do aromatic butter.
u can add garlic or herbs and then refrigerate it.
make sure when u r melting it that it doesn't boil or burn.

It will harden, but the milk solids will separate, skim them off for clarified butter.



I do it all the time. You may want to stir it after about an 1/2 hour in the fridge so the solids mix well.
