Yes you can use them and no, it won't impair the flavor anymore than red food coloring impairs a red velvet cake, it will just color the cake a little

probably a nice color actually

Golden granules such as Sugar in the Raw or Florida Crystals-- The natural, unprocessed sugar? That's all I use. In my banana bread and banana chocolate chip cookies I use two one-eighth cups. The bananas (about four in each recipe) in each recipe and the chocolate chips int he cookie recipe make them plenty sweet.

My cake recipe suggests two cups of sugar. I generally use about three-fourths. (I also make a frosting for it and when it is half set, I sprinkle on semi-sweet chocolate chips.) I grew up on baking with half of the sugar. My husband grew up on plenty of full-sugar things. He didn't even noticed when I used even less sugar in my banana bread and my cookies... Not until he saw me do it. he still likes them.

Yes you can. It will affect the flavor, and only impair it if you don't like it.

It will be a more complex flavor, which if, for example, you were doing a white or angel food cake, would maybe "muddy" the flavor. But if you're doing a carrot/spice cake, or chocolate, the added complexity will be very nice.

This is really about your taste rather than a yes or no answer...

you can and you could add some Molasses to it after all this is what brown sugar is , the taste is more intense in the brown sugar.

edit

Oops sorry ! i reread the question yes you can use the golden sugar the taste will not even be noticeable .

If the cake is white,it will affect the color, but if not, then it is ok,and no, taste will not change.
