When you make chicken matzo ball soup, do you cook the matzo balls separately, or just cook them in the soup?!

Question: When you make chicken matzo ball soup, do you cook the matzo balls separately, or just cook them in the soup?
Answers:

You cook them separately in gently boiling water. If you cook the the matzo balls in the soup, you will have cloudy soup. I often prepare both the soup and the matzo balls the day before, cooked and refrigerated separately, and both are fine. By cooking it the day before, most of the fat will solidify at the top of the soup and is easily removed.

Just like chicken -n- dumplings, the dough balls get cooked in the broth

In the soup!
