Can i put jam on bread dough and then cook it?!

Question: Can i put jam on bread dough and then cook it?
Im makingmy own type of bread, and i was thinking of doing a swirly bread and put jam in the middle, like flatten the bread dough after kneading then put jam over it then roll it up and put it in the oven, would it burn the jam? Would it make it taste disgusting?

No you really can't, because bread has to be baked for awhile, the jam will burn.

You could make a sweeter dough, fry it in little rolls and then squirt jam into them with a meat injector

Make little jelly donuts

As long as your dough doesn't need to be cooked too long it will be fine. I have made jelly rolls before and they turned out great, but if you over cook the jam it will change from warm and gooey to hard and crunchy. If you're worried this will happen, just make sure the dough is thin so it can cook faster :)
Good luck!

Yes and it would not taste bad at all!

It sounds lovely....roll out the dough, spread jam and roll. After baked, slice to see swirls...fun!
