Flavored panna cotta?!

Question: Flavored panna cotta?
I have read recipes about panna cotta but it
always says to use unflavored gelatin so i was wondering if i could use flavored gelatin thanks to anybody who helps! :^)

Answers:

Hmmmmm....when I think of panna cotta I think of a rich vanilla custard with a dark chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries. I've also had a coffee flavored panna cotta and its yummy too. The one concern I'd have about using traditional "jello" is the granulation process. Generally you soak plain gelatin in water until it softens before using it. And, the idea behind it is to simply gently firm up the heavy cream you'll be using. But, heck, I'd give it a shot anyway!

Flavored Gelatin would distract from the flavors you want to ad.
Also, with flavored gelatins, you don't know how much gelatin is actually in a pack.
It would be weird to have Panna Cotta that's very springy like a gummi bear.

However, there are gelatin desserts that use flavored gelatin and cream. They usually are made in molds like a bundt cake and have little marshmallows floating in them.

panna cotta is a mild tasting dessert so if you have flavoured gelatin say Strawberry/Vanilla then go for it ! just be sure its a sweet flavour not savory.By the way ive NEVER seen flavoured Gelatin leaf form or the crystals. Uk
