hi i forgot to take the chicken fillets out of the freezer last night i am having dinner in about 9 hours if i take them out now will they be defrosted by the time i want to use them?

Thanks

Answers:

Yes,they should be fine if you leave them at room temperature...............

Hi i am a Chef !! the best way is to leave them in warm water only for a short time, then refrigerate when defrosted (until you need to cook ) , it should take about 1-2 hours to thaw , you can defrost in the microwave but it tends to cook the chicken and make it tough , always store food in the fridge to prevent food poisoning ..... and always completely defrost chicken and pork , as then it will cook properly 24 hours most things will defrost , unless its a big Turkey for example hehe

just me

How about using the defrost mode in your microwave oven?

But if you do not own a microwave oven then, try soaking the fillets in lukewarm water, it should help to defrost a bit faster, but how long it takes depends on much fillets you have to thaw. I think they should be Ok by about 2 hours. You can also try changing the water every now and then if you have then time, to speed up the process.

you can do a couple things (if they are bagged) place them in warm water. Or place them on a burner (off), b/c the pilot light will defrost them very slowly but it should be ok if it's 9 hours from now

tss

put them in a big bowl of cold water, they will be thawed in a couple of hours.
