What is the equivalent of onion to onion powder?!

Question: What is the equivalent of onion to onion powder?

I'm not a person who likes chunky vegetables and even at 21 my mother doesn't like me to get the blender out but at the same time i like the flavour it offers dishes...especially onion which is in almost everything. I found out there's onion powder; so i was wondering how much powder is there in comparison to say 1 onion?
