where can I buy the monte cristo sandwich? Bennigans used to make them but they are now out of business.?!

If you are willing to take an eight hour drive, you can go to either Socorro, NM, or Disneyland.
In Socorro, there is a restaurant called El Camino that serves Monte Cristos with a soup or salad and French fries. Theirs, however, is grilled French toast style and has green chilies in it.
Disneyland is the originator of the Monte Cristo, but you have to pay to get into the park first. Go to Cafe Orleans; they sell them.
I have lived in the general Tucson area most of my life and do not know of anywhere in town that serves that sandwich. If you are adventurous and have a deep Fryer, though, you can get the recipe online or order one of the Disney cookbooks; Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs is the one that has the recipe.
