Urgent. Can I substitute semi-sweet chocolate for sweet chocolate?!

Question: Urgent. Can I substitute semi-sweet chocolate for sweet chocolate?
I need to bake a cake and I need sweet baking chocolate. I only have semi-sweet baking chocolate and i have no time to get sweet baking chocolate...
Can i substitute it and if so any changes that need to be made....thank you..

Answers:

sure, but it will be semi-sweet instead of sweet. you could probably add a bit of sugar (1/2 cup should do it) without harming it any.

You can melt the chocolate in a double boiler and add some sugar to it.

It should be fine. Semi sweet is dark chocolate so your cake will have a richer taste. You could put less of it in.

yesssssss
no changes are needed

yes
