This is the easiest, best tasting chocolate recipe in my opinion:
6 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar (doesn't have to be sifted)
3 sticks (12 ounces) of unsalted butter at room temperature
6 tablespoons of half-and-half
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Throw all ingredients in a food processor and pulse it until it's incorporated, then process until it looks smooth and it's ready to use.
I like to make a spreadable stiff Buttercream Icing
2-3 tbsp unsalted softened butter
3 cups icing sugar
1 tbsp cocoa
approx 1 tbsp milk or by 1 tbsp at a time more if necessary
Mix by hand with a fork until smooth.
