Is a Peanut Butter sandwich healthy?!
1 medium apple (100 calories)
2 slices of wheat bread (200 calories)
2 tbsp of peanut butter (200 calories)
no jelly or jam
But what i wanna know is the peanut butter unhealthy because of the fat content? will i gain weight? im looking to maintain my weight. THANKS

How much you should be eating all depends on your height, age and weight. The average person should consume 1500 calories a day to maintain their weight, but you need to spread out your meals so that you don't eat too many calories in one sitting. Eating too many calories in one meal can slow down your metabolism, but eating smaller portioned meals and snacks will speed up your metabolism- as long as they are fairly healthy and you don't eat too many calories. 500 calories isn't too bad for a meal, but I don't recommend eating that many calories at each meal. Peanut butter is high in protein which makes it relatively healthy, but it's not something that you should be eating lots of or often- because of the high fat content. You won't necessarily gain weight, but you shouldn't eat foods high in protein for dinner because they take longer to digest. If you want a peanut butter sandwhich- eat one at lunch. The protein will keep you full through out the day so that you don't snack too much, and this will give your stomach plenty of time to digest the protein. (foods high in protein take longer to digest) It's good that you cut the jelly out though because that's just preserved sugar- which isn't good for you. Also, try not to eat foods that are high in carbs for dinner (Bread), even though the carbs give your body energy, your body burns it off and you get hungry in an hour. It's better to eat more of your carbohydrates at breakfast and lunch so that you have more energy through out the day. If you still want a peanut butter sandwich for dinner, but want to reduce your calorie intake, than get 100% whole wheat bread or a Lighter bread from your grocery store. (They make bread that has only 40 calories per slice) It's much easier to digest and fewer calories. Also, look for an all natural or organic peanut butter that doesn't have hydrogenated oils. Other than that, you should be fine and won't gain weight. Just make sure that you're eating plenty of fruits and veggies and drinking lots of water. Make sure that you get an hour of excercise each day and you won't have to worry about gaining weight- you'll maintain your weight.

it also depends on what other foods you ate during the day. If you already had a supplement that had protein such as a meat then i wouldn't suggest eating peanut butter ontop of that but if not then yes it is good for you but i suggest getting the light peanut butter (usually 20 or so less calories per tbsp) Hope i helped!
Peanut butter is very healthy, despite the fat. Your dinner was fairly healthy but could be improved by adding vegetables.
Whether you gain weight depends on your current weight, your activity level, and what you eat at other meals.
500 calories for a dinner is actually pretty low. And peanut butter, especially the natural kind, has a lot of what they call "good" fat and protein.
Now you have me craving apples with peanut butter. :)
Peanut Butter has fat, but it is the GOOD kind of fat that your body needs. Do not get low fat peanut butter, they replace the food fat with chemicals l that are not good for you :(

eat natural peanut butter. the fat will rise to the top. the other smooth stuff contains hydrogenated vegetable oil and refined sugar, not exactly stuff you need in a healthy diet.
