Everyday I cook is an experiment; I have been cooking for over 50 years now, and I always try something new to an old dish, you know spark it up give it new life in the flavor area.
I am open to spices being use where I didn't use them before; dill weed, paprika, chili powder, cumin; these have open the door to that old flavor vault.
This I tried, why I couldn't tell you, but I finely chopped about 1/4 of a small onion, threw it in a saute pan with 1 tablespoon of margarine over low heat until the onions were translucent; then I threw in a drained can of French Style Green Beans and cooked over low heat until heated; I then turned up the heat to high, once the beans began to sizzle, I liberally sprinkled bottled Italian Dressing into the beans and stir them until all were coated. Covered the pan and turned off the heat and left to cool down, then serve with my meal. Now that was some great green beans.
You taste buds and your imagination can provide you with a life time of experiments in food; if it appeals to your way of thinking and eating, then go for it.
Hey, why not try taking freshly roasted corn on the cob, sprinkle it with Italian Dressing while it's still hot on the cob.....just a thought.
Good luck.

So I was hanging out with my friends one morning and we were craving chocolate chip waffles and bacon. Of course I didnt feel like making a huge mess by cooking bacon, so I threw bacon bits into the waffle batter with the chocolate chips and they tasted sooo gooooood.
I am a weird eater in the first place though...

peanut butter and jelly sandwich with cheetos or chips inside of it
scrambled eggs with strawberry jelly
corn, gravy, meat, and mashed potatoes all mixed up (not that wierd)
goldfish+chocolate chips
chicken nuggets or fries from Wendy's + frosty
eggo waffles dipped in milk

this is what happens when you play with your food at the table :)

I had a bunch of chopped tomatoes for tacos left over- simmered them with parsley, oregano, garlic & salt & pepper, stirred in some cream, added black olives, pepperoni & mozzarella, and some bow-tie pasta.
THAT was a truly inspired dish!

Umm...do some corn rubbed in a parsley, garlic, paprika, garlic & cumin mix.

Maddie, mine was a recipe that called to marinate chicken in Italian salad dressing. I like to play with wines and other alcohol, so I added about 1/2 bottle of brandy in with the dressing, let it stand in the fridge for a good 24 hours. Then rolled it in seasoned crumbs and baked it. Man we were sucking on the bones.

i didnt have bread once and i wanted a sandwhich so i made a maple sausage waffle sandwhich with cheese. it was messy but fantastic :)
