Anyone have a Lasagna recipe using Feta cheese?!

Question: Anyone have a Lasagna recipe using Feta cheese?
I do not have ricotta or cottage cheese just feta cheese (i do have mozzarella too).
Would like the recipe to use ground beef (if the recipe says sausage i can just substitute ^_^).

Thanks for your help!!

Also, if u have another recipe that uses feta cheese in the main meal thats great too! :)

Answers:

You could substitute ricotta or cottage cheese for feta in any recipe its basically the same type of cheese, just pressed in a block and cured in a salty brine. You may wish to soak the feta in water overnight and drain before using to take away some of the saltiness.

You should learn to make this fantastic greek dish called moussaka. Its a greek lasagna (often calling for feta cheese as an ingredient) made from sheets of sliced eggplant layered with tomato meat sauce and sometimes covered with a rich béchamel sauce before baking.

There are many recipes for it. Here's a good one:

I would recommend just breaking it up into small chunks and layering it in like you do the ricotta, You could also mix the mozzarella in with it in the layers, that may work also. It will have a different texture though because Feta does not melt well. I would put the mozzarella on top because it melts better. If I were going to try this with Feta I may change up some of the other ingredients also. Maybe Chicken as the meat, Kalamata Olives, Oregano, Lemon Zest. Kind of a Greek themed Fauxsagna. Which sounds good I'm going to have to try to work out a recipe for that.

Sauce: Melt butter and add flour stirring with a wooden spoon. When bubble starts add warm milk while stirring. Careful not to have lumps! On a low heat simmer to make a thick sauce. Add salt and black pepper. Add eggs one by one , stir well after each egg . Add Parmesan, stir well.

Putting together: Grease an oven pan (10" by 14" about) with butter. Put one layer of cooked lasagna. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp. of melted butter. Pour 1/2 Tbsp. of sauce on 6 or 7 places. Repeat this until you use half of lasagna noodles. Spread the filling evenly. Finish with the rest of the lasagna the same way. Cover the top with the remaining sauce. Decorate with slices of orange colored cheese (optional). Bake at 350 degree F. for an hour or little more until cheese melt and sauce becomes light brown.

Make the lasagna done and then rub the cheese and then mingle it.

You can use feta cheese with green or red pepper filings. Stuff the peppers with rice carrot and feta cheese and then put it at the furnace.
