Substituting sour cream for milk in a recipe.?!

Question: Substituting sour cream for milk in a recipe.?
My recipe calls for 1/4 cup of milk but to bring additional moisture and richness to the cake recipe I want to add sour cream. Would it be this for that an equal amount or would I have to add more sour cream to equal the amount of liquid in milk? Thanks for any response.

Answers:

replace the milk with the sour cream. i do this all the time. it is better. plain greek yogurt works well too.

Recipes are a guide only and should be treated as such if everyone treated then as gospel then food would be very samey . There is no reason to n ot exchange the ingredients

Mr. Curious, the recipe is asking for 1/4 cup of milk, why substitute it with sour cream. No man stick to the recipe.
