how do you get marzipan icing to stick to a cake?? i heard apricot jam but not sure as my cake is chocolate?!
Answers:
you can use any flavoring to help the marzipan stick, you just need a little thin layer of butter icing, jam cream or whatever you want. Since your making a chocolate cake, in my opinion i think you should make like a chocolate cream and use that then put the marzipan down :))
You jusy need soemthing sticky. Such as frosting. You could use Any flavor of jam, but it is such a thin layer I guess you can't even taste it.
I do NOT use marzipan or fondant I think they are just just nasty and wrong.
You can use any kind of frosting under marzipan as a glue to keep it in place, it needn't be jam. Chocolate frosting works just as well as jam in this situation.
strawberry jam
raspberry jam
