I'm planning on making it for dinner. I was wondering if it's best grilled and what should be put on it? Thanks so much!

Hi!

Ingredients

4 (4 ounce) fillets tilapia
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, or to taste
1 lemon, thinly sliced

1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill

Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2.Season the tilapia fillets with salt, pepper and Cajun seasoning on both sides. Arrange the seasoned fillets in a single layer in the baking dish. Place a layer of lemon slices over the fish fillets. I usually use about 2 slices on each piece so that it covers most of the surface of the fish.
3.Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
4.While the fish is baking, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, lemon juice and dill in a small bowl. Serve with tilapia.

Yummy!

Little outside the box, but tilapia takes to seviche really well it is quite tender and very nice when does in this way. cut the tilapia into the cubes, add cilantro, red onion, cilantro and tomato and some lime juice. add salt and pepper refrigerate for 30 minute and then take out and serve makes a very lovely dish, the lemon will cook the tilapia rather then heat. if this is not appealing I would recommend frying in butter or olive oil, then make a balsamic reduction and some roasted potato and you have dinner.

Bake or Broiled is best. I like to use blackened or cajun seasoning and broil it for about 7 minutes or until done. Make sure you bake or broil it on foil because it falls apart Easily when it sticks to the baking sheet. If you're going to bake it season it with lemon, thyme, garlic, S&P, all to taste. Another way to bake it is in a parchment pouch. Make a bed in the pouch of some leftover sauteed Onions, 2 sprigs thyme, juice of 1/2 Lemon, and a splash of white wine. Layer Fish, brush top with Pesto. bake it in the sealed pouch,

Tilapia is mild and can be cooked in several ways, depending tasteI do agree with one reply stating that given that it is a thin fish it may not hold up to grilling very well.

Baked...place in baking dish season with salt and pepper to taste.and dot with butter bake @ 350 for 15 mins, remove from heat cover and let rest for 10 mins before serving.

fry with coating of your choice...add 2 t salt and 1 t pepper per 1 cup coating(cornmeal, flour or crumbs) dust fillet with flour dip in beated egg, then roll in breading.fry in 1/2 inch veg oil over med heat.turn to brown both sides.

If you grill it put it on a sheet of foil or it will fall through the grates! Then flake it, season it with cilantro, a pinch of sea salt and a ton of lime juice. Then put it into soft shell tacos with some shredded cabbage or pico and some kind of creamy dressing.

Mmmm fish tacos!

grilling isn't wise, as its a thin fish, that flakes easily, it tends to fall apart and could fall through your grill grates

i would either broil it, or batter and fry it.

i like a little garlic pepper and olive oil if broiled, if fried, just get some fun tarter sauce for it.

Tilapia is a bottom-feeder like catfish and is best breaded and deep-fried. I like to serve deep-fried tilapia on sesame seed buns with hot sauce, thousand island dressing and rocket (arugula)

Bake on foil with about 1/4 cup water/butter mixture and cover fish with bread crumbs, butter and crushed pecans. Season with salt and pepper before adding crumb mixture.

You Should Bake It.

Its Always Best To BAKE Tilapia.

the best way is to use some heat with a pan add spatula a stove some pam spray a pinch of salt a little love(:

I think the best healthiest way would be to bake it. I would sprinkle some Ms Dash on it.

I bake mine with a lemon butter dill sauce poured on top while baking.
