The brand "Ramen Noodles" is a brand where there is derived white flour where most all nutrients of grain are removed. The noodles are dry and, whilst being prepared, are boiled for a while. Once the cooking of the noodles is complete, there is a packet full of flavoring (Shrimp, Beef, Chicken, etc.) that is mostly sodium. You mix the noodles and the flavoring together and TADA! Quick, yummy, nurtient-lacking meal :)

Tom's answer is outstanding, but you're unlikely to find authentically prepared ramen noodle dishes like that very easily outside of Asia. In the West you're much more likely to encounter small packets of noodles which have been compacted into a block the size of a note pad by deep=frying them in oil. The are packaged in a plastic wrapper along with a small foil pack of seasoning which consists almost entirely of salt with a few tiny pieces of green onion and spice and artificial meat flavoring. You are intended to boil the noodles for a couple of minutes, then add the seasoning packet to make yourself an individual serving of "soup". They are very cheap, filling, satisfying (for some people), and provide very little if any nutritional value.

Ramen noodles is a Japanese noodle dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat- or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork (チャーシュー, chāshū?), dried seaweed (海苔, nori?), kamaboko, green onions, and occasionally corn. Almost every locality in Japan has its own variation of ramen, from the tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen of Kyūshū to the miso ramen of Hokkaidō
