Can I substitue whole milk for half n half?!

Question: Can I substitue whole milk for half n half?
I am making a broccoli cheese soup for dinner and forgot the half and half. Can I just use whole milk?

Answers:

Absolutely. If you want to stick to the recipe more you can boil the milk down a bit before you add it to the soup. But I wouldn't bother. The cheese should thicken it up any way.

yes but use half because "half and half" is made from equal parts whole milk and equal parts cream.
maybe you can find cream some where

Yes, just use the same amount of milk. You could also add a tbsp of butter for more flavor.

Yes ... the substitution in that case is not a problem
