What can I substitute heavy cream for in Icing?!

Question: What can I substitute heavy cream for in Icing?
there's this icing recipe calling for 3/8 cup of heavy cream to make 3 3/4 cup of icing. Is it ok if i just use whole milk?

Answers:

You can try using 3/4 cup milk...plus 1/3 cup butter

Melt the butter.... Pour it into the milk, and stir..... Use in place of one cup of heavy cream.

This substitute will not whip.

If you use low-fat milk, add a tablespoon of flour to the mixture to thicken...

I have never used this...I always make sure I have what I need..and I have heard it takes for ever to thicken.......

I don't recommend...just giving you a substitute.....

Good luck !!!

J.L. by the time it's taken you to post this question, then read them, pick the one that suits you to substitute, you could have been to the store and back with the cream.

The heavy cream gives the icing it's texture and consistency.
In its place you can try beating the icing sugar with some butter.

its not ok to use any type of milk. ut you can uise richwhip non-dairy topping its in a small carton and usually in the freezer section of most supermarkets

No..it wont work..there isn't enough fat in milk to make icing
