I hear that fondant isn't good tasting, is there a fondant that is or is it just not as good a reg. frosting?!

Question: I hear that fondant isn't good tasting, is there a fondant that is or is it just not as good a reg. frosting?
I'm making a cake for my sister's baby shower and I want to use fondant for decoration. I found three different types of fondant to make; rolled, butter cream, and marshmallow. Which one tastes the best and is there any other kinds of fondant I could use that taste good. Also like I stated in my original question does fondant taste good at all? I heard that it doesn't.

Answers:

it all depends on what flavor and texture of fondant you use, honestly, as long as the cake inside tastes good, it shouldn't be an issue because fondant either is tasteless or tastes sugary... as far as i know, butter cream is best to stick to, like the previous "answerer" if that's what we're called haha.

J, personally, I would stick to the butter cream. If you know your way around a piping bag, you can dress a cake real well. I hate fondant, I always leave, to the point my wife gets embarrassed that I refuse to eat cakes with fondant.
