Movie theater butter?

Anyone know how to make the movie theater butter instead of just pouring melted butter on popcorn because when i do that the butter shrivels it.

this is not a different recipe, but when I make popcorn with melted butter I put the butter on the bottom of the bowl first, then pour the popcorn on top. this helps with the top layer not getting soaked, and if you shake the popcorn in the bowl it should become evenly coated.

You have to let the butter cool way down. You can also buy the powdered butter from the grocery store. I prefer to let the melted butter cool though.

Some movie theaters use "butter flavoring",its an artificial butter flavor syrup.

It is the water in the butter that shrivels it. Either clarify the butter or let the moisture boil out before using.
Movie theaters used to use butter flavored coconut oil, I'm sure many still do.

Movie theater butter is sort of like a bi-product. First they get raw cow milk. Then they separate it in to two parts. There will be the fat and the milk. they separate the fat. one part is the butter and one part is this dry stuff that they flavor with salt.

Try popping your own popcorn but before you pop them soak them in melted butter and salt ( don't put too much salt )

I don't think using real butter, cooled or warm, will work like movie theater 'butter'- cooled butter would just be chunky and/or flakyish and I think, gross. There is an oil in a bottle in the snack aisle at most grocery stores (I'm positive Wal-Mart has it if you shop there) made by Orville Reddenbaker (sp?) that is very similar to the oils used by most movie theaters.
