How not to burn the kebob sticks?!

Question:

How not to burn the kebob sticks?

Answers:
I used to soak them in water for about 30 minutes before grilling. Now, I have metal skewers and don't have to worry about that. You can get them anywhere you can get kitchen utensils.

Soak them overnight in water and then cover the tips with tin foil after you loaded them up.

presoak them in water before placing meat and veggies upon them.

Soak the bamboo sticks overnight and during cooking process, cover as much as possible with the food.

I think you won't have to worry about the metal skewers.

just soak them in water for at least 30 minutes...

soak them in water

The sticks them selves soak in H2O
The Kabobs, cook longer and at lower heat.

A variation on answer #1 is instead of covering the exposed ends of the skewers with foil, cover the part of the grill under the exposed skewers with foil to protect them from the heat. This is simpler if you are doing multiple batches.

You soak them in water first. Then wipe them dry and skewer your kebobs. When the whole skewer go on the grill, the stick will not burn.

The most practicle answer would be to invest in metal skewars, but if you don't have the metal ones you can soak the wooden skewars in water before you add your meat and veggies...Then the other trick you can use would be to use the whole skewar from tip to end, that'll usually keep the sticks from burning. Or if you want to keep portion sizes on your skewars, then just trim off the parts that you are not using. Enjoy
