Good luck and happy birthday to dad!
I am a pastry chef at a 5 star hotel here in michigan. I will be more than happy to walk you through some of the steps. Just email me and ill give you a few recipes you can use and give you some great tips.
cake mix best way to go because make a home made one take time and if you are making it then you should go with the pre-mixed package easier also where the have cake mixer supplies the also have icing and this to decorate a cake with so you can check that out
Yes, cake mix is always nice and simple. The best to me is buy the one that already made in the bakery stores.
I'm sure your dad would appreciate anything you've gone to the effort of making yourself, even if it doesn't turn out to be a perfect specimen - so don't worry too much!
A home-made cake says SO MUCH MORE than a cake mix! But is ideal for a fallback - but have some confidence - at least give it a try.
You can't go wrong with "all-in-one-cake mixes" - Delia Smith has a nice simple recipe - and you can make them plain, chocolate, or other depending on your preferred flavour.
Try the library if you don't want to buy a book or ask your Mum - someone is bound to have Delia!
You can get so many ready made decorations these days to stick on top and ready made icing to pipe on but you use your imagination too.
That was really nice of Jerry A to offer such help - just like having Gordon Ramsey on the end of the phone!
Good luck and Hope you have a great birthday party!
