Grilled Steaks
4 ribeye steaks
1 cup dry red wine
2 teaspoons garlic herb seasoning
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1. Place all of the ingredients in a large ziplock bag.
2. Marinate for 2 to 4 hours in the bag. Turn the bag over every once in awhile to keep the meat covered with the liquid.
3. Grill on barbecue until done as desired..
This will make 4 servings.

I love to make homemade pizza. My favorite is BBQ Chicken. Use basic pizza dough either from scratch or store bought package you just add water to. I purchase a whole rotisserie chicken and pull the meat from the bones. I top the pizza dough with my favorite BBQ sauce (I like Cattlemen's) and then the chicken, red onion and Monterrey jack cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes at 475 and enjoy! Hope you try it!

Chicken, with potatoes or rice, and a vegetable.
You can bake the chicken, use a 1/3 cup water in bottom of pan, season chicken with salt and pepper, and mixed seasonings, and bake at 375 to 425, depending on your preference. If it is chicken pieces use 375, and if it is a half or whole chicken go to 400 to 425. You can bake the potatoes wrapped in aluminum foil, or boil them and mash them, or fry them. Any green vegetable is good with chicken, green beans and a salad. Use leftover chicken for salads, sandwiches, make a chicken pot pie, or add gravy to make another dish.
Meatloaf is good if you are using hamburger. There are many meatloaf recipes, and you can cook the potatoes, chopped up, in the pan surrounding the meatloaf. Drain the grease, and add the vegetables
Cheeseburgers are favorites, with salads.
Spaghetti and meat is good. You can use chicken, beef, or sausage, with marinara sauce.

People ADORE my meatloaf though:
3 pounds of ground beef, one package of dry onion soup mix, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Shape into one large loaf, or 2-3 smaller loaves. (you can freeze some at this point).
Bake at 350 degrees (325 if using a glass pan) for about 90 minutes. I make the 3 pounds as one big loaf in a cake pan, and 4 people pretty much eat ALL of it.

If you were raised in one part of the Country, you will be accustomed to certain foods, where in another, they might find it disgusting. America is a large and diverse place, and out tastes run from Corn Dogs to Caviar.
Some people think Taco Bell is Mexican food, others think Beefaroni is Italian.

Americans' fave? That's like saying what's Europe's fave dish... ! -- there are just so many, can't generalize for the whole country.
If you choose an area of the country (the South, the Southwest, New England...) and ask them for their faves you'll get different answers from all over -- up North you get clam chowder & lobster rolls... Southern states love their BBQ and pecan pies and more... out West you'll get votes for a good ole steak... California sourdough bread and healthy salads... vegetarians & vegans with creative cuisine are all over the country... and if you mean native Americans there are so many different kinds of those too - their cuisine is so varied & delicious - fry bread, wild greens, corn dishes, wild rice, game...
Just so many to try -- it's a great country for fresh ingredients, home cooking & regional specialties. It'll be interesting to see what people answer.
That's a tricky one - since we are such a diverse culture, there are many favorite dishes - and these favorites can dramatically change based on what part of the country that you are at or where you are from.
Some of the main factors in having a favorite dish, might be ingredient availability. Though, many of our dishes are influenced by other countries - especially now a days. We eat more culturally diverse than ever, with "ethnic" foods becomming more and more popular (Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Greek, Ethiopian, etc) - the traditional American meal is going by the wayside. Traditional American meals often contain high fat, cholesterol, calorie, and sodium rich foods. One favorite that I can think of off hand is fried chicken - or are you looking for the Sunday meal of roast beef and mashed potates - maybe your just looking for a pizza recipe? A great place to see how Americans cook (and get the recipes) is at recipes.com If you are looking for a real American meal, then I am afraid you need a recipe for Pemmican or buffalo jerky - because the rest of us are all transplants (and decendants of) with our own cultural influences. We are not like other countries where rice is a staple to every meal and everyone eats the same types of foods and meals - we are fortunate to have great variety of foods available. I guess this is one way that we are spoiled. We do not necessarily eat or prepare our meals the same way as our neighbor, nor do we necessarily cook the same way our mothers or mother mother cooked - so I have to say that there are way too many favorite dishes that Americans have - there is not just one menu item that can be named.
