What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?!

Question:

What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?

I am looking at some raw food recipes from the UK,and it mentions the term stoned. What does it mean?

Answers:
If you are looking at a recipie with cherries or dates for example, it means that the stones are to be removed.
Thats what we say when we remove the stones? What do you say?

I believe the term stoned means that the food has had its pits removed.

It means that the pips, seeds or stones have been taken out: stoned raisins, stoned prunes, stoned cherries, stoned plums, stoned olives etc etc.

All the best.
