Round cookies?!
Round cookies?
Whenever i make cookies they are always shaped funny. I follow all the recipes correctly but every time they dont come out round. Any tricks on making them look more like an actual cookie?

I have always gotten complements on my cookies when I use a small ice cream type scoop. All the cookies come out the same size and shape. It is also fun to use a large scoop to make big chocolate chip cookies with. People go nuts. As a tip I will say that after I put the scoop of dough on the cookie sheet to bake I always just gently press down the dough to flatten it a bit so it does not end up doughy in the center because the cookie was too thick.
Are you talking about rolled cookies? If so, and you don't have cookie cutters, use a glass to cut your cookies. I do this for biscuits. Get yourself some good cookie cutters, not those cheap plastic ones. They'll last longer and don't melt in the dishwasher! If you're talking about chocolate chip type cookies, or similiar, use a cookie scoop. They will come out perfect everytime.
An ice cream scoop or roll the dough in little balls with your hands.
Depends on what kind of cookies you are making for example peanut butter ones you have to press down with a fork if you are rolling into balls and dropping on your cookie sheet they still have to be pressed down with your hand I hope this helps.
2Beagles has your answer, but your Q got me thinking and laughing, who cares what they look like, my tongue can't see but it sure can taste a great cookie no matter what shape it is. You keep making great cookies and I'll keep my eyes closed. Bake Away!
