Answers:
YORKSHIRE PUDDING

3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. oil

Beat flour, salt, eggs, milk together until very smooth, scraping bowl occasionally. Refrigerate 2 hours or longer. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Measure oil into 8 x 8 x 2 inch square Pyrex pan. Heat for 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan and bake for 20-30 minutes. Do not open door. Serve immediately.
When fresh from oven good Yorkshire pudding is a puffy irregular shaped golden mass, unlike any other baked dish. On standing a few minutes, the surface settles more or less evenly and when cut the outer crust is tender, crisp and center soft and custardy.

Serves 6.

Yep, and make sure the ovens reeealy hot before you put them in.

4oz flour, one egg, half pint of milk
Sieve flour into bowl, add pinch of salt, make a dent in the top and crack the egg into it. Mix while slowly adding milk. Pour into preheated oiled roasting dish.
Cook in hot oven 200c for about 20 mins

yes just flour, egg and water. sorry i don't know exact quantities though, hubby makes ours with the mix stuff you buy

What the others said, plus make sure the fat is really hot, alomst smoking, before you put the batter in. Good luck.

Plain flour,egg,salt and water

Good question & You have some good answers here...excellent one from depps-lover just what i would have said.........Also if you enjoy sausages you can make a lovely "Toad in the hole" using this mix.......Gently brown off sausages in a frying pan, place in oven proof dish pour over the mix, place in the oven for 25-30 minutes! OOOOh i know what we are having for dinner tonight-my mouth is watering already!! LOL!! Also as Katie30 said you can buy ready mix, much quicker & convenient if you don't have the time to prepare your own!!

Yorkshire Pudding Ingredients
2 Eggs

Half a Cup of Plain Flour

Half a Cup of Milk

A Pinch of salt

Raisons or Currants (optional)

1 Mixing Bowl

Wooden Spoon

Yorkshire pudding tin (or any small, round flat-ish baking tin)

Oil / Lard

Take the flour and add it to the mixing bowl. Then crack both eggs and beat into the milk. Make a well in the centre of the flour and beat in the eggy milk mixture like you are making pancake mix. Use a hand mixer, whisk or fork for the beating ensuring you leave no lumps and beating in as much air as possible.

You should have a somewhat thick, yellow mixture now. If you prefer your Yorkshire pudding sweeter then you can add currents or raisons to the mixture (I do) as well, mixing these in thoroughly.

Yorkshire puddings take about 10 - 15 minutes to cook so these should go into the oven towards the end of your Sunday roast cooking time.

The oven needs to be preheated to around 425-450 Farenheit (220 - 230 Celsius) which is probably will be already if you are roasting potatoes. Add a LITTLE oil, dripping or lard to each individual pudding tray and throw this in the oven for a few seconds to melt it.

Then, spoon the yorkshire pudding mixture into the preheated tray sections trying not to overfill. Now, put them in the oven and in around 10 - 15 minutes they will be ready.

Avoid opening the oven door as this will cause them to flop and you want fluffy, nicely risen Yorkshire puddings, not hard flat pancakes.

The oil in the baking tin must be very hot
1 egg
4 oz self raising flower
Milk or water
Mix in a bowl egg & flower add a little liquid at a time (you can aways add more if requied) should be like thin cream (no lumps of flower)
Cook in a hot oven
Add cooked sausages (toad in the hole)
when you have got the hang of makeing it try lemonade as liquid

This is the one i use

Don`t bother, I buy own label frozen supermarket ones they are as good if not better than homemade and cost about 75p for a bag ten.
Happy eating.

The recipe I use was one I saw on 'ready steady cook' on tv. You use equal volumes of flour, milk and egg, which makes it easier than weighing and measuring separately.

You have some great recipes above. I have a tip though, I hate using oil in my Yorkie's especially for the kids. Get a piece of baking paper, line the tin (if you scrunch the paper up before putting it in the tin then it will fall nicely into the corners etc), pre-heat your oven as normal and put the yorkie batter in the lined tin.

The yorkie still rises, the baking paper stops it sticking to the pan and if you got enough paper up the sides then the pan doesn't need washing ! Works very well with toad in the hole as well.
