Olive oil for cooking spray - can i sub? 2 q's.....?!

Question:

Olive oil for cooking spray - can i sub? 2 q's.....?

I am a new cook! I don't have any cooking spray to spray on my chicken pieces, i'm doing a recipe......can i brush on olive oil instead as a substitute?

I have another question: i'm supposed to coat the chicken with flour and bake in oven, how is the flour going to get off of the chicken - is this chicken going to taste like flour?

here's the recipe if you wanna take a look:

Answers:
yes , you can use olive oil , turn the heat down to 375 , add 10 min. cooking time so the olive oil does`nt burn
the flour will turn to a crust when combined with the marinade you bake it

Put a little olive oil in your hands and rub it all over the chicken, This is much better than using spray. After you have floured the chicken, make sure that you shake off all of the excess. When you cook it, the flour will help to form a crispness to the crust and will taste like...dare I say it...like chicken.

Make sure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 180 degrees. use an instant read thermometer and poke it into the meatiest part of the breast for an accurate reading after the chicken has been cooking for 50 minutes. I have found that most oven roasted chicken takes at least an hour, so be careful..

Good luck!

You can use olive oil. The flour will not make the chicken taste like flour. In fact it will enhance the flavor. Olive oil is better for you than a spray too since it is natural and more healthy.
