What is the cost to make your own bread with one of those bread makers?!

Question:

What is the cost to make your own bread with one of those bread makers?

My wife wants to make her own bread. We've found a good model at a good price and good reviews.

Answers:
it is just the cost of ingredients, then probably less than $1 a loaf. I have a breadmaker. I used to use it more. I think, if you have all the ingredients on hand, it is "cheaper" to make a loaf than buy it, BUT you may not like the texture as much (depending on what you're used-to)

I like to use the breadmaker to make the dough and then I prefer to bake the dough in my oven rather than in the maker. The maker makes the loaf into a funny rectangular-cubish sort of shape.

I once was a purist and only made bread the old fashioned way. I am now a bread machine convert. On the whole, expect to spend 75cents to a dollar per loaf...the smells and taste are priceless.
