Help with a marinade????
I had this awesome marinade and I was wondering if anyone knew a recipe. It was for steak and it had soy sauce, cilantro, some kind of hot sauce, and I think it had garlic in it also. Help please!

Ingredients:
1 1/4 pound well-trimmed boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut 1 inch thick
Lime slices, fresh cilantro sprigs (optional)
***Marinade***
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon hot chili oil
2 tablespoons garlic powder or minced fresh garlic
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
***Sauce***
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
Marinade: combine soy sauce, olive oil and hot chili oil in small bowl. Combine garlic powder and pepper in second small bowl.
Place beef steak in large shallow dish. Pour 1/2 of soy sauce mixture over one side of steak; sprinkle with 1/2 of garlic powder mixture and 1/2 of chopped cilantro. Rub mixture firmly into beef. Turn steak over; repeat on second side. Cover and marinate in refrigerator 20 minutes.
I use soy sauce,lime juice,cilantro and olive oil and garlic powder for carne asada.and a little salt and pepper.

Soy Infusion
1a??2 cup light soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons Southern Comfort
1 green Thai chile, split open
1 red Thai chile, split open
1a??4 cup packed cilantro, bruised
1 1a??2 tablespoons Thai basil leaves, bruised
1 1a??2 tablespoons mint leaves, bruised
1 tablespoon coriander seeds, toasted, crushed
Cilantro Dressing
1 cup cilantro leaves
1a??4 cup lemon juice
1a??4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon julienned lemon zest
1a??2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons grapeseed oil
2 tablespoons white sesame seeds, toasted
Skewers
1 1a??2 pounds New York strip steak, cut into 3a??4-inch chunks

Cooking Instructions
Soy Infusion
Bring the soy sauces and Southern Comfort to a boil in a saucepan, then immediately remove from the heat, and stir in remaining ingredients. Set aside to cool, uncovered, at room temperature. Strain through a fine sieve, reserving the liquid.
Cilantro Dressing
Blanch the cilantro in boiling water, shock in a bowl of ice water, then squeeze in a clean towel to remove all liquid. Bring the lemon juice and sugar to a boil in a saucepan, then blanch the zest for 3 minutes in this syrup. Strain, reserving the zest and discarding the syrup. In a blender, purée cilantro, zest, and remaining ingredients until they turn bright green.
Skewers
Thread the steak onto skewers. Brush generously with the soy infusion, sprinkle with salt, and grill over hot to medium-hot coals for 2 minutes on each side. Brush with the cilantro dressing, and serve
ASIAN FLANK STEAK
Hoisin sauce, star anise and five-spice powder perform equally well as a marinade.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup lime juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp. hoisin sauce
1 tbsp. honey or molasses
1/3 cup Asian or cold-pressed domestic peanut oil
2 tbsp. oriental sesame oil
Flank steak
1 to 2 star anise, ground or crushed
1 tsp. five spice powder
1 to 2 tsp. Tulkoff Ginger Puree
1 1/2 tsp. Tulkoff Chopped Natural Garlic
3 to 4 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 cup chopped scallions, white part removed
METHOD
1. Combine the lime, soy, hoisin and honey in a non-reactive mixing bowl.
2. Whisk in the oils, a little at a time.
3. Add the anise, five spice powder, ginger, garlic, cilantro and scallions.
4. Place flank steak in a non-reactive container. Pour marinade over steak and refrigerate for 2 hours.
5. Remove beef from marinade and place on a broiler rack about 3 inches from the heat source and sear for 1 minute each side.
6. Continue broiling the beef, 5 to 6 minutes for rare or 7 to 8 minutes for medium rare.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings
