So much emphasis is put on skinless chicken because most of the fat in chicken is in the skin. At one time there had been a debate about whether cooking chicken with the skin on―and removing it after cooking―was higher in fat than simply peeling the skin off before cooking.
The Department of Agriculture analyzed chicken cooked both ways using both breast meat and thigh meat.

The answer is that there is no significant difference between the two, but that the moisture content of the chicken cooked with the skin on was significantly higher. Same fat and calories, just juicer chicken.

Not really. Skin has a lot of fat in it which is not good for you ever, but once in a while it fine. But during a diet, you should not consider eating them,

If the chicken is fried then it is definately not good if one is on a diet. But, if the chicken is grilled or cooked in another way where most of the fat is taken away then it is ok.

That's the fattiest part of the chicken, so as long as you are counting those calories too, it's fine. But you save a lot by eating skinless, lean chicken breasts only.

That is such a great question and you know what? Everybody will say NO because they're brain washed. The real answer, and this is from experience, is YES, it is not only OK --- it's GREAT for you. Eating more fat will allow you to lose more weight. Please read this article. And good luck.

My only diet throughout life is, eat everything I like, IN MODERATION. I am now going on 59, and my weight through life is always around 185.

I know its the tastiest part, but all it is is the fat and extra calories you don't need. I'd rather waste the calories on a sugar free pudding snack after. It better to have a few small meals a say. Cottage cheese is a good one and so is motz string cheese. Watch out for fruit it full of sugar, in moderation! Weight i out this way... it it worth the calories, or could you use the calories somewhere else?

its ok to eat with skin on but if u're on a diet then its a big NONo. As chicken skin has higher energy value which mean more fat and calories. Removing the skin wil be better.

Well, I would say no, but it depends on what type of diet you're on. If it's for watching weight, think about whether you need those extra carbs or not. Carbs are long-term energy storage, but if you don't plan on expending that energy, why bother?

Chicken skin has alot of fat so if you're trying to shed pounds then you should remove the skin even if you like it.

its ok to eat chocolate when ur on a diet! So yeah go ahead eat the skin if u want to. Just remember to lose weight u need to use more energy than u take in from food. So if u eat the skin then u will either need to eat less of other things or do more exercise.

No. Skin is mostly fat. Taking the skin off reduces the amount of fat and calories of the piece of chicken.
