How are dippin dots made?
Answers:
Produced at a temperature of -320 degrees F the Ice Cream Product must be maintained at a constant temperature of -40 degrees F. Specially designed freezer equipment and transportation has been designed to accommodate these very rigid conditions. Each and every dot is unique, much like a snowflake. The Patented Super-Cold freezing process locks-in the flavor and allows the product to maintain its individual 'dots' consistency and freshness.

Dippin' Dots is an ice cream snack, invented by Southern Illinois University graduate Curt Jones in 1987. The confection is created by flash freezing ice cream mix in liquid nitrogen and also has more ice cream in it than conventional ice cream. The resulting small spheres of ice cream are stored at temperatures ranging from 20 to 70 degrees below zero Fahrenheit (from -29°C to -57°C).
And they are fantastic!

Yes it really is ice cream! That’s the answer to our most frequently asked question.
In fact, Dippin' Dots? is the world's coldest ice cream and certainly the most unique frozen treat.
We start with the finest dairy ingredients, then add taste-tempting flavorings and special “goodies” to produce all our delicious flavors and flavor combinations.
Dippin' Dots are then flash-frozen using a special cryogenic process. This super-cold freezing allows our products to maintain their individual "dot" consistency. Dippin' Dots are then transported coast-to-coast and around the world by truck, train, plane and ship.
i dont know! but i LOVE dippin dots! <3!
