The simplest, easiest, and most flavorful is to put in a pan with a small amount of boiling water--not enough to cover it--put a lid on it, set the heat to low, and let it boil-steam done for about five minutes. Season it to your taste when it's your plate.
Shark is one of my favorite fishes. It has a good, unique flavor and to me it doesn't need any marinating. I have a blend of seafood spices I like. I spray the baking dish with pam, lightly salt and pepper both sides, dot top with butter or fake butter (extra virgin olive oil is a great alternative too) and sprinkle with seasonings. Then I bake for proper time for amount of fish (generally 20-30 minutes.) Broiling works well too. I would use one of those 2 cooking methods for best quality fish.
I feel it doesn't need more than that. It is SO good as is. I think it's not only the easiest but the tastiest way to prepare!
My favorite way to cook shark steak is too blacken it.
You can use your own blackening ingredients or just buy the bottled "blackened redfish magic". (in the herb aisle)
Then just cook it in an iron skillet or on the grill.
It is delicious!!!
