Unique Ramen Noodle recipes? what r yours?
I made some chicken the other day, removed all the water added the seasoning pack and a piece of cheese, they were like dinner noodles. ........ there was nothing left in the cupboard it was my last resort. what are your last resort recipes.? w/ ramen or whatever

You know, it's funny, I thought of making a similar post last night.
I was once, and still am, to a degree, fascinated with the simplicity of ramen, and I like the idea of being creative with this simple and very affordable noodle. Here are some ideas for ramen noodles that I have heard of or thought of so far in my ramen noodle journey:
Chicken noodle ramen soup, also known as fireside chicken soup, or something along that line. I saw the recipe on the back of a 6 pack of ramen. You basically cook the noodles as you normally would, but you add in some cooked chicken, carrots, onion, celery, and mushrooms, I think. You also leave in some water for broth. Top with a little salt and some freshly ground black pepper. Yum!
I've also heard of crumbled ramen noodles being used as a kind of crouton type topping for salads. Did you know that the ramen noodles are already cooked when you get them, so you could technically eat them dry, straight from the pack.
How about a cheese-burger noodle-type dish? Cook your ramen, leave out the seasonings. Drain. Add in some cooked ground beef, a nice tomato sauce, and top with lots of cheddar cheese.
Or try a veggie medley- take whatever frozen, fresh, or canned veggies you have, or any left overs from your fridge, and toss them in with your favorite ramen. It adds some nutrition to the otherwise bland ramen.
You could also do a cheesy noodle, by leaving out the seasoning pack, and instead, melting in your favorite cheese, with a little milk, to make a cheesy sauce. You can probably add in some flour to thicken it up if it turns out too thin.
How about a saute? Try this- cook the noodles according to pack. Drain. Add in seasoning (chicken flavor), mix. Then saute the noodles around in a large frying pan or wok. Add in some white onion, some chunks of chicken, and any other veggies you feel like having. Saute until the meat and veggies are done. Top with Parmesan cheese.
Try ramen in a cold pasta salad. Break the noodles up into smaller pieces, cook, then drain. Allow to cool, or run cool water over them until they're cool. Add in some ranch dressing, some cooked peas, maybe some carrots, onion, or celery, and pepperoni.
A simple thing to try is to leave out the seasonings, drain, and mix in a little butter, salt, and pepper.
Some other simple things I've heard are good to add in your ramen are tuna and eggs.
Really, you can add in whatever you want, but, word to the wise, you should probably use your common sense, and match up things that will go well together. Out of all of these ideas, I'd really say that the chicken soup idea is the nicest, and probably tastiest. But be creative, experiment, and if it turns out icky, look on the bright side- a pack of ramen only costs about 10 cents :P

I like to cook the noodles and drain the water and add some speghetti sauce always a good cheap resort
TOP RAMEN NOODLE SALAD
3 pkgs. Top Ramen noodles (do not use seasoning packet)
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 pkg. Uncle Dan's Original Dressing
3 stalks celery
3 green onions
1/2 pkg. green frozen peas
1 can water chestnuts
1 can shrimp
Break up top Ramen noodles well. Boil like package says, rinse in warm water, drain. While still warm add Uncle Dan's and mayonnaise to noodles. Cool. Add the remainder of ingredients and chill before serving.
RAMEN NOODLE COLESLAW
1 head cabbage, shredded
1 bunch green onions, cut fine
5 oz. slivered almonds, toasted
1/2 c. sunflower seeds
2 c. broccoli flowerets
1 pkg. chicken Ramen noodles, uncooked & broken into sm. pieces
Mix all ingredients in bowl. Toss with dressing just before serving.
DRESSING:
1 packet Ramen noodle seasoning
1/2 c. oil
3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
3 tbsp. sugar
ramen noodles, boiled in water with seasons according to recipe, crack an egg or two in for the last 30 seconds or so, stir lightly.
Sort of like egg drop soup.
That's how my husband likes them; I like them boiled in water only, and while they're boiling I take a tablespoon of butter and mix the seasoning in the bowl. When I've drained the noodles I add them to the butter mixture and stir quickly.
Throw some cheese on that

cook them but they are still just a little hard...stir fry some veggies carrots, green peppers, onions...(cook this by itself)scramble an egg...throw in your favorite meat....you can use steak pieces...throw the noodles in with a little soy sauce use the entire packet of seasoning to stir fry the veggies in..yumyum poor mans yakisoba
do as the instructions, but like a minute or two before it's done, add some eggs and some leeks or about 5 minutes before, add the soybean sprouts (the ones with yellow tops and stuff?). The way i like it most is with Korean Kimchi chopped up in it lol.
I like to brown a small amount of ground beef (small amount, I say, because I stretch my budget), prepare a pack of beef Ramen noodles and drain the water then add the flavoring packet. Put the noodles on a plate with the ground beef on top of them. Add a pack of soy sauce (easily obtained for free from most Chinese restaurants) and you have made what I like to refer to as 'Poor Man's Lo Mein'.
Well, it's not really a recipe, but when I was younger and we didn't know how to cook anything we took Beef Ramen Noodles, and Chicken Ramen Noodles and mixed them together.
It's a unique and interesting flavor.
Oh, and just a note for everyone out there, DON'T ever put butter in Ramen Noodles! It tastes awful. No, I didn't do that myself, my Mother snuck it in my noodles when I was sick a long time ago.
Ramen Noodle Egg Foo Yung
1 servings 10 min 3 min prep
1 (3 ounce) package ramen noodles (I think chicken is the best but I like oriental flavored, occasionally)
3 tablespoons butter
2 large eggs
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon sesame oil
soy sauce (optional)
Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions and drain well in a colander.
Whisk eggs, onions, 1/2 of the seasoning packet, and sesame oil with a fork in a small bowl and set aside.
Heat butter on med high heat in an 8 inch nonstick skillet.
Add drained noodles to butter and brown very lightly about two or three minutes. Do not stir much.
Pour whisked egg mixture over noodles and gently incorporate, don't really stir, just sort of mix it gently.
Flip the patty over and cook the other side until the egg is set, about two minutes.
Flip over again and cook about 1 minute more.
Serve with soy sauce if you wish or an egg foo yung sauce
Make Chicken Ramen Noodles, Add a can precooked canned chicken, Sprinkle Shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese on top.

1 Raw Ramen (not the instant one), boiled (like preparing spaghetti)
put under raining tap water till it's not sticky
4 boiled or grilled tiger prawn, peeled, devained
4 boiled or grilled big scallops
1 squid, cleaned, tubes cut into rings, boiled or grilled
200 g salmon fillet, cut into cubes, grilled
salt and pepper (to marinate seafood for 15 minutes)
1 lebanese cucumber, chopped into big chucks
rocket or mixed salad greens
some fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon white wine
1 teaspoon of roasted sesame seeds (as garnish)
Dressing
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1.5 tablespoon light soy sauce
1.5 tablespoon rice vinegar (sushi vinegar)
1/4 lemon juice (adjust the taste by adding more or less)
1 teaspoon sugar (adjust the taste by adding more or less)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1) Put all raw seafood in a bowl, marinate with a pinch of sea salt, freshly ground black pepper and white wine, keep in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Boiled ramen, drain well and put it the refrigerator as well.
2) Put dressing ingredients in a screwtop jar, shake to combine, adjust the taste, set aside
3) Preheat barbecue or a cha-grill pan until very hot. Line 2 serving platters with a layer of rocket / mix salad green, top with ramen (1/2 portion on each platter)
4) Drain seafood from marinade. Bush some oil on the bbq or the pan, add seafood, turning them several times for about 6-8 minutes or until just cooked, squid and scallops would cooked quicker and remove them from the pan faster than prawns (do not over cooked seafood or it would be tough and dry)
5) Let cool a bit the cooked scallops, squid rings, prawns and salmon, meanwhile shake the dressing well then spoon some on the ramen.
6) mix with the cucumber, dill with seafood and put them on top of the ramen. Again, Spoon some dressing on the seafood and sprinkle sesame seeds as garnish. Serve seafood with mayo or tartar sauce if desired.
I personally prefer to add a bit wasabi in the dressing then serve the dressing on the table, I like to add the dressing on my salad bit by bit.
