I tried and tried but it always comes out to be breaded and not crispy. thanks!

Tempura Batter

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 cup ICE water<<<<<<<<<<<< 1 cup all purpose flour

Prep:
Beat an egg in a bowl. Add ice water in the bowl. Be sure to use very cold water. Add sifted flour in the bowl and mix lightly. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
Makes 4 servings

TEMPURA BATTER

3/4 c. cornmeal
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs (or just whites)
1/2 c. water

Beat eggs, add water, add dry ingredients and chill. Great for shrimp, fish and broccoli.
