Recipe ideas for a family of noodle fans?!

Question:

Recipe ideas for a family of noodle fans?

Has anyone got any receipe ideas for things that can be made with noodles? I have a 3? yr old daughter who picks things out of her food, so the simpler the better.
We are sick of potato products, but all love noodles and pasta but lack imagination (and time, to a certain extent).
Think I'd better stop watching Gordon Ramsey, don't you?

Answers:
5 c cooked egg noodles
4 peeled apples, coarsely grated
1/2 c sugar
5 tablespoons butter
breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (or a few pinches of cinnamon)

Combine noodles, apples, sugar and butter. Toss lightly and transfer to buttered casserole sprinkles w/ bread crumbs. Flavor w/ vanilaa or cinnamon. Cover and bake @ 350 or until apples are cooked.

Great idea this
Get a pitta bread white or wholemeal bread up to you but go healthy and encourage your daughter to be healthy too. open it up and place noodles in and ask them to pick some of there favourite food like meats and they can place it in.It will be fun for them and you and they would enjoy making it but make sure you cook the meat with the noodles so it isnt raw. chicken, ham and bacon are great
enjoy

Purchase Sharwood noodles from your local supermarket real good recipes included on the labelling. The Chicken Chow Mein Recipe is lovely and easy to make . Eat your heart out Gordon.

1 can cream of chicken soup
1 small can green peas
3 cups noodles, cooked
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Flake tuna in casserole dish. Add soup to tuna. Add noodles, salt, and peas. Stir all together.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees

CHEESY CHICKEN-N-NOODLE CASEROLE

2 packages egg noodles
1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1 jar Cheese Whiz
3 cans chicken, or 3 boneless chicken breast,
3 tbsp of mayo
1 box of cheese-its, or like crackers

Broil and cut chicken into cubes.
Prepare noodles according to package instructions. While noodles are cooking, heat soup, with 1 half can of milk on low heat.

Gradually add Cheese Whiz, stirring constantly until all of the cheese is melted. Add the chicken, simmer for a few minutes, continuing to stir. Remove from heat.

When noodles are finished, drain, and stir in the 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Add soup and cheese mixture until all noodles are coated well.

Spray a casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray, and spoon the noodle mixture into it. Crush several handfuls of Cheese-Its, and sprinkle them over the noodles, or however much you like.

Bake in 350° oven for 25 minutes, or until sauce is bubbly and hot.

This is good as a meal alone, and tastes even better the next day. You can substitute the chicken with tuna fish. You can also use Cream of Celery Soup, which gives it a differet taste. Or try mixing the soups, half chicken, half mushroom. Adjust to your own taste.

Shanghai Noodles with Chicken -
Ingredients -
(serves 4)
275g/10oz chicken breasts, skinned and boned
500g/1lb 2oz pak choi
2 cloves garlic
250g/9oz egg noodles
1 tsp sesame seeds
3 tbsp veg oil
salt and black pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornflour
1 tsp toasted sesame oil

wash and pat dry chicken and cut into small pieces. cut pak choi in half, remove small triangular stalk and discard and then shred everything else - this can take a while but is the hardest part of the recipe! peel and finely chop garlic. Heat a wok or large frying pan, add the sesame seeds and lightly toast. pour in veg oil and fry garlic briefly. add chicken and stir fry over high heat for 2-3 minutes. Season well with salt and black pepper and then push the chicken to one side of the wok. Add the pak choi and cook until al dente stiring continously - The chicken remains in pan so it's a good idea to hold the part of the pan with the pak choi onto the stove heat only so as not to burn the chicken. While the pak choi is cooking, cook the noodles as per the instructions. once pak choi is al dente, stir in the soy sauce. Mix then the chicken and the pak choi well in the pan. blend the cornflour with a drop of water and pour into the pan and stir until the juices have thickened a little. remove from the heat. Add the sesame oil and the noodles to the pan and stir well.(the sesame oil is really strong in flavour so if you continue cooking after it has been added then it only gets stronger and then smothers the other flavours.) serve immediately. enjoy!

Firstly, I prefer to use egg noodles (yellow). Chinese shop sells the most authentic chinese noodles. They dont stick! Next thing you do, choose the vegetables that your child prefers to eat like carrots, celery, red and green bell pepper french beans or garden peas. The colourful the better, then cut them into small strips like julienne. Choose your meat (disregard if she/you are vegetarian). Use Kikoman Japanese soy sauce (the best).

1. Soak egg noodles in cold water for about 30 minutes or until they separate, strain (almost drip dry) then fry them with a little bit of oil with garlic and onion. Set aside.
2. Stir fry the veg with a little bit of oil. Set aside.
3. Fry the marinated meat separately (in case if one does not like meat). set aside.

This way, you can serve the above like salad, mix/match what they want with their noodles.

Any ,marinated meat will complement the noodles like, spud you like! (although try avoid choosing mince meat).

Another of way vegetables mix and match is choose veg that you like to eat raw but cut them into strips.

Have you tried Beef Stew over noodles, or rice. If you like Tuna there is such a thing as Tuna Casserole w/ pasta. Its ok, my kids are not much for it.

hamburger strohganoff..(sp)...
brown some lean ground beef, add one can of cream of mushroom soup, a little squirt of ketchup, & some sliced mushrooms...heat well & stir in 1 cup of sour cream...serve over noodles

Go to the store and get a package of beef cut up for stew. Put in pan and brown. Gt a jar of brown gravy and add cookec noodles. You may also add peas if you like.Makes a delicious quick meal

I found a great peanut butter pasta sauce at www.jif.com
for my kids. It's bland for adults, but my 2 and 4 year old kids like it. It can be a little thick, so maybe a little less on the actual peanut butter. Mixed frozen veggies and diced chicken work well with this- maybe not all mixed together, cuz my kids have to keep everything separate.
Good Luck!

Start with wide egg noodles. Boil until tender. Drain, Mix in one big can cream chicken soup, one big can chunked chiken a little parmesian cheese. Mix well. Heat until hot. Serve with garlic bread. Fav. with my family. Quick an easy to.

My husband does a lot of our cooking. He does not eat cooked veg except for corn.
Here's one of his favorites he calls "Chicken Glop"
Boil a pound of rotelle or another medium size pasta. Drain.
Make a gravy of cream of chicken soup, one can chicken meat (or two cups left over chicken, boned and skinned) seasoned with poultry seasoning or a little thyme.
Pour over the pasta and toss.
For variety, change out the cream of chicken for cream of celery or cream of mushroom.

Blend fresh spinach (well washed, thanks to the health risks) with some cream and a little salt. Heat and pour over pasta. Hey, you said you wanted simple, and she can't pick out the spinach when it's blended. You can, of course, add a lot to this. Chicken broth, butter, garlic, onions, mushrooms, the list could go on for a long time, or not! Hope you enjoy!

My 2 year old LOVES this thing my mom makes. It has 8 oz. sour cream, 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, a stick of butter and garlic salt to taste (abt. 1 tbsp). You just cook up a package of noodles (I use penne); put the sour cream, cheese, butter and garlic salt into a bowl and microwave it until it's all melty then mix in the noodles. Sometimes I'll mix in a can of mushrooms and some diced chicken and make a meal out of it.

my grandma made homemade egg noodles .. and we only got them at christmas and other special occasions. she made the noodles from scratch.. boiled them .. and then fried them in a fring pan with fried onions and chopped up fried bacon..and of course salt and pepper.. yum yum !

egg noodles:

5 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
3 cups flour

mix to a stiff dough. roll out and let rest 30. min. cut up and freeze or boil till they float. drain and fry with onions and chopped bacon as mentioned earlier

nope, not low fat but very yummy! ....by the way . the noodles are extra good in soup !!

Including the noodles you need 4 ingredients for this.

Brown some ground beef (or a blend of turkey & beef) with some minced onion. You can drain the grease from the pan or not - your decision - before adding your favorite BBQ sauce (from a jar or homemade). Let this simmer while you cook up your pasta or noodles. Combine & enjoy! My family likes this better the next day after all the flavors mingle a bit & I layer it in a 13 x 9 pan to heat up in the oven with some shredded cheese on top.

Feel free, to add other vegetables if you like. Some people I've given the recipe to have layered mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini or spinach & added other spices to make this up like a lasagna & bake it for 30 minutes the first time they serve it.

A two-year old that I know loves her noodles with a little butter stirred in and a good sprinkling of finely grated parmesan cheese on it. She can ask for it in English and German and polishes off the lot.
