Answers:
CRAB AND CREAM CHEESE WONTONS
1 pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 can crab meat, drained
2 T flour or Wondra
3 scallions, minced
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 egg, beaten
oil for deep fryer
Wonton Wrappers
Finely mince the scallions. Combine with cream cheese, crab meat, and flour or Wondra.
Beat the egg in a small bowl - this will be used to brush the edges of the wonton wrappers before folding, and helps to keep them together.
Place large tablespoonfuls of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton skin and brush edges with egg mixture. Fold over to form a triangle, then press edges together to seal.
Bring the two side edge corners of the triangle to the middle and press these together to form a ring.
Heat oil to 350 degrees in a large, heavy bottomed pan, sufficient to cover the wontons.
Fry wontons until golden, turning once, about 2-3 minutes. In order to avoid lowering the temperature of the oil, do not attempt to fry too many at once. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels and serve.
Variation: You can substitute the cream cheese and crab mixture with pre-packaged crab / seafood spread. Check the ingredients label and use only cream cheese based products. Add finely minced onions or scallions and use as above to fill wonton skins.

Breakfast Florentine Rolls:
(You can prepare these the night before, then just pop in the oven and bake. This is a great recipe for company, as not only is it easy, but very tasty.)
Serves 4
Bake 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes
4 large Kaiser rolls, poppy seed rolls or onion rolls
1/2 package of fresh spinach, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup fresh mushrooms, chopped
2-3oz. pkgs. of cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup maynonnaise (not "Miracle Whip")
1/4 tsp. dried dillweed seeds
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 lb. deli honey ham, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Cut a slice around the top of the rolls and remove (setting aside), and scoop out insides, leaving 1/4-inch thickness. Bake on baking sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Set aside.
Saute spinach, onions and mushrooms in butter until spinach is wilted and onions are transparent. Stir in cream cheese, cooking over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts. Stir in mayonnaise, and the seasonings, adding the ham and cheddar cheese last.
Fill the kaiser rolls pressing down as you're filling. Put on the bread tops and arrange rolls on a non-stick pan, cover with aluminum foil. Bake 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until cheese is bubbling. Remove. Serve with fresh fruit and/or a veggie of your choice. Usually, I serve with an assortment of fruit (grapes, cantaloupe, strawberries, etc.).
garden dip- 1- 8 ounce package cream cheese at room temperature, chopped fresh chives to taste, garlic powder to taste. Mix ingredients and chill. Serve with bagel chips, table crackers or whatever.
ASPARAGUS SUSHI! Try this with cream cheese.
You'll need:
Asparagus
Cream Cheese
Pesto Sauce (optional)
prosciutto
1. Blanch some thin asparagus for about 30 -45 seconds in boiling water.
2. Shock them cold in ice water to stop the cooking and maintain very green color.
3. Have soften cream cheese ... you can flavor it with anything you want like a pesto sauce (Costco)
4. Put two of the asparagus together and "glue" them together with the cream cheese. Put the third asparagus on top to form a triangle.
5. Wrap the whole thing in prosciutto ham.
6. Season with a nice Cajun spice
7. Cut at angle like Sushi!
the most delicious and easy dip ever!!!
1 pack of philly cream cheese (light or normal)
1 bottle of corn relish (good quality)
Mix together in a food processor
Done!!
Yummy
These are absolutely divine.
Easy Oreo Truffles
1 pkg -18oz Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, divided
1pkg (8oz cream cheese, softened
2 pkg ( 8oz each) Baker's semi sweet baking
chocolate, melted
Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use (I use a blender or you can put them in a resealable plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.)
Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper- covered baking sheet.
Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
Refrigerate until firm, about an hour.
Store covered in refrigerator. Makes approx 40-50 truffles
You will have some leftover cookie crumbs. I just put them in a freezer bag and put them in the freezer. We like to use the crumbs with ice cream.
For easy dipping, place truffle ball in melted chocolate to coat; Lift truffle from chocolate using two forks (this will allow extra chocolate to run off) before placing on wax paper
I also substituted mint Oreo. I had to tweak it a little bit because there are less oreos in the 18 oz pkg.
Oh yea, I'm not too crazy about cream cheese, the Oreos and chocolate disguise the taste.
If you're looking for a great summertime dip, esp. for a party or just lounging try this:
-1 package of cream cheese (1/4 fat or fat free if you prefer)
-1 bottle medium or hot salsa (depending on your taste)
-tobasco
mix the cream cheese and some salsa and a few drops of tobasco with a mixer. Basically it's up to you how much salsa or tobasco you want to add- it's all about your preference which makes this recipe so great. You can make it super spicy or very mild! Serve with tortilla chips or even regular potato chips.
I like depps_lover's recipe, they are also known as Crab Rangoons.
