Edible images on cakes?!

Question:

Edible images on cakes?

My anniversary is coming up in about 2 months, and I wanted to have a cake made for dessert. I want to have an image put onto the cake (you've seen those, right?)... but I kind of wanted to put a 'naughty' picture of me on there as a little treat for him. Does anyone know where I can do that online? I don't want to send in a naughty pic to a website and have them press charges or anything (you know how some people are!). Any ideas?

Answers:
Many bakeries now have a special ink jet printer that uses edible inks. They print your image on a special super thin sheet of sugar and lay it over the top of a frosted cake. I had this done for my anniversary too. The picture was kind of naughty....it was a pic my hubby took of me sitting in bed with the satin sheets up to my waist and my arms folded over my bust. I guess if you are comfortable with the decorator seeing your pic there shouldn't be a problem. Good luck and I hope this helped!

Send me the pics and I'll see what I can do......

You could also check out www.kopykake.com, they have all the info on how to do it.

Well, I remember having an image cake a while ago. I think I ordered it from Baskin Robins. So maybe you should try there. Maybe their website would accept orders for cakes. I really don`t know but it`s worth a try. I`m sure they won`t press any charges I mean they want your business right?

I suggest you contact a local baker or patisserie that is trusted in your community to produce a custom cake such as you describe. Unlike on line retailers, these professionals will go out of their way to please you, a local customer, who is part of their local business.

You will also be able to safeguard your image by asking them to delete your information from their computer/printer when you pick up your cake. Then, if your picture shows up somewhere else in this universe, you can either sue the bakery or your husband ;)

Happy Anniversary!
