Does anybody know a fried corn on the cobb recipe?!

Does anybody know a fried corn on the cobb recipe?

I tried some at a restaurant in Oregon a year ago, and have been looking for a recipe ever since. It would be great to have over the summer.

Do you mean the batter fried corn or just the grill fried corn? I see you have the batter fried recipe. Here is a great grill one --

Bacon Wrapped Corn
The incredible flavor of roasted corn combined with bacon and chili powder is sure to please your palate and bring rave reviews at your next backyard barbecue.

8 large ears sweet corn, husks removed
8 bacon strips
2 tablespoons chili powder

Wrap each ear of corn with a bacon strip; place each on a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Sprinkle with chili powder. Wrap securely, twisting ends to make handles for turning.

Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 20 minutes or until corn is tender and bacon is cooked, turning once.
Yield: 8 servings.

And -- Roasted Corn with Sweet Red Peppers
Corn on the cob is roasted, wrapped in foil with roasted red peppers and pepper and butter.

4 to 6 ears fresh corn
melted butter
1/3 cup diced sweet red bell pepper or roasted red bell peppers
ground black pepper, to taste

Remove husks and silk from ears of corn. Place each ear of corn on a piece of heavy duty foil then brush with melted butter. Sprinkle about 2 to 3 teaspoons of diced red pepper over each ear of corn. Sprinkle lightly with ground black pepper.
Wrap foil around corn and twist each end. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.

FRIED corn on the cob? Sorry, never heard of it. Just boil it and smear it with butter and sprinkle some salt on it. Mmmm mmmmm good.

Fried corn on the cob? Sounds interesting but the closest I could get would be grilling it in the shuk on over some hot coals.

Batter Fried Corn-On-The-Cob

Ingredients:
Peanut Oil Or Other Oil
Fresh or Thawed Frozen Ears Corn-on-Cob, broken or cut in halves
***Batter***
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup corn meal -- enough to make a thick batter
***Coating***
1/2 cup (or more as needed), self rising flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or Garlic Magic (see note)
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper


Directions:

In a Deep Fat Fryer or Deep Heavy Dutch Oven Preheat Peanut Oil Or Other Oil to 375 Degrees F. In deep fat fryer or heavy saucepan, heat Peanut Oil to 375 F. Make a batter by combining the cornmeal, buttermilk and beaten egg(s). Combine flour, garlic powder, salt and black pepper in a medium bowl or pan and set aside. Dip corn-on-the-cob ears into cornmeal batter to coat. Roll in flour mixture. With cooking tongs, holding at a distance, slowly place a few ears of corn in hot oil, 1 at the time. Fry for about 3 minutes per ear or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with corn holders in each end and in corn dishes (if you have them) while hot. Season as desired with salt and black pepper.

I've never had it fried,but grilled corn is one of my favorites.To grill corn on the cob start by selecting good full ears.The best way to do this is to pull the husk back a little to check for underdeveloped corn at the top of the ear.
Preparation:Carefully pull husks down,do not tear off.Remove corn silks.Pull husks back up to cover corn and soak in water for at least two hours.
Place well soaked ears on grill and cook until corn is slightly tender.(Grilled corn does not get as soft as boiled corn.)
Peel back husks,coat with butter,and enjoy!
