Has anyone ever made a black forest wedding cake?!

Question:

Has anyone ever made a black forest wedding cake?

I've had a request to make one and am not sure what the best way to go about it would be. Any suggestions would be great.

Answers:
A traditional Black Forrest cake is a chocolate cake, with cherry filling and whipped cream outside. Generally it is accompanied by a cherry brandy that you can soak the cake in, and chocolate shavings on the outside. Some people substitute and use a butter cream, so you may ask the bride and groom which they perfer or just stick to tradition and use whipped.

black forest. ???? go collect some twigs and pinecones?!

I ama former chef in Canada and have an extensive background in patrys and baking, the only issues is with the tiers, you would need supports, small PVC tubes in a circle on the bottom, it maybe better to do it in an offset fashion more post-modern, even a stair step fashion, so you don't have to sacrifice the cakes form.

And while real whipped cream is preferable, if it is going to be out for an time and a warm day, you might want to augment it with some artifical base, or keep it cold until they wish to cut it.

And the alcohol content is something to flavour or real thing, I had a number of people when 2 one with and one with out for children and non drinker, even though I only used brandy and rum flavours.
