I love barbecue but don't have a smoker. How can I smoke BBQ ribs on the grill?!

Question:

I love barbecue but don't have a smoker. How can I smoke BBQ ribs on the grill?

I live in a condo and don't have the space for a smoker. I have a small out door grill. I love to make ribs even in the winter. Can I smoke them in the oven or on the stove when it's too cold to do it on the grill?

Answers:
Yes. Turn the heat down real low. 100 degrees. Get some wood chips and soak them in water for 20-30 minutes. Make a packet out of foil and put the soaked chips in. Wrap it up and fold it over twice to seal it so no water leake out. Poke some holes in it. Throw it on the grill and it will smoke after a while. When it smokes out, 1 hour or so, add another packet to the grill. Try to add another packet before the first one goes out so you dont have to smoke without any smoke.

you can get smoke flavor in the oven with something like liquid smoke or a method called cold smoke (google it) but to do it on a small grill light your charcoal and move to one side above the charcoal in a small pan put some water, to the charcoal add water soaked smoking chips then put your meat off to one side and let slow cook...check your fire every so often for proper heat.....

you can use wood chips to ad smoke flavor.
on the small grill or get liquid smoke for the oven.

If you have multiple burners on the grill. Turn one burner on as low as it will go. Soak some wood chips for an hour put them in tinfoil, poke some holes in the tin foil. Put them in the grill near the burner that is turned on. Put the meat on the grill furthest from the burner that is on. Refill wood chips as needed.

you will need to have a very good vent system to draw the smoke out.
take your wood chips and make an envelope out of foil poke some holes in the top then put the pouch in a round cake pan and set them down on the element in the bottom of your oven
keep temp low about 225-250 and cook for 5 hrs.
you will need to clean the oven after this
