How do you know when chicken is fully cooked?
I don't have a thermometer...I will probably pick one up soon, but for right now, how do you know when chicken is fully cooked?
Answers:
When the juices running out are clear, not red. Also, when you push or poke on the meat, it should be firm, not soft or mushy.
If you have a thermometer, insert into the thickest part of the chicken. The temp should read at least 165. Also, you can cut into the chicken and it shiuld be completely white. Also, the juices shold be clear.
bite it if you don't have a mouth full of blood, guess what? its done
at the following website, they have a table of what the times are for meat products to be cooked according to their weight.. its towards the bottom of the page.. scroll down.
hope this helps..

You should check the temperature with a meat thermometer and if it is at 180 then it is done.
get a meat thermometer and check the temp. of the chicken it should be around 180 degrees i think.
Stick a fork into the piece about half way through it and remove, then press on top of the piece next to where you stuck the folk. The juices that you see should be clear and have no red tint to it.
And if still in doubt just cook it another 5 to 8 minutes, better dry than get sick!
well till a fork tender and when pressed on clear juices come out and its no longer pink
when you fry it it will stop bleeding, about 10 minutes cook time on both sides on med. heat.Baking it, about 45 minutes,on 350.A whole bird may take longer depending on the size.
If you don't have a thermometer, just use a knife to pierce the chicken. If the juices run clear then its done.
If its a whole chicken, I usually pierce around the leg joints.
The sure way without a thermometer is to give the leg a slight pull and twist, if it pops easy your bird is done, assuming you're cooking a whole bird. Chicken pieces cooked at 350 will be done in 45 minutes.
The easiest way to know that chicken is done when the juices run clear in the pan, and the chicken is opaque (you can't see through it).
when the chicken is fully cooked the meat lookes a lite brown color, and if you cut the meat and its still red in the inside it has not been fully cooked yet!
Use a sharp knife to prick the skin deep, when the juice runs clear (no red) it is close, then cut deep on the side(to the bone and make sure there is no pink meat!
