CHEWY OATMEAL COOKIES

3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups oats, uncooked
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


Heat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease baking sheet with butter.
Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl.

Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on cooling rack.

Makes about 2-1/2 dozen cookies

Spiced Oatmeal Cookies:

6 oz. Butter
6 oz. Brown Sugar
6 oz. Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Tbsp Orange Juice Concentrate
7oz. All-purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp.Cinnamon,ground
1/2 tsp. Allspice,ground
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg, ground
2 oz. Regular Oats

Directions:
1.) Cream the Butter and the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and orange juice concentrate.

2.)Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda,salt and spices together and add them to the cream mixture.


3.) Position dough on to lightly grease cookie sheet and bake at 325 F until almost firm. About 12 minutes.
