Can you use cooking spray as a substitute for oil in brownies?!

Question:

Can you use cooking spray as a substitute for oil in brownies?

Answers:
No! You can use applesauce, but not cooking spray!

Nooooo

I would not do that....but you can substitute apple sauce for the oil- cuts calories and makes them just as yummy!

no...unless you decide to empty about a zillion cans into a measuring cup. You need the moisture

If you mean as an ingredient then no. Cooking spray is for making a pan non-stick. If that's what you are trying to do then yes.

No, use applesauce instead.

Probably not, because the texture wouldn't be right. Not only that, but it would be difficult to measure. If you're trying to cut back on calories and/or fat, substitute light tasting olive oil (be sure to get a bottle that says light tasting though) or applesauce.

no. good old h2o. i do all the time to cut fat.

Applesauce is good for cakes and the like, but for brownies, use mayonaaise...not the fake stuff, but good ol' Hellmann's or Kraft... use the same amount as the recipe calls for oil...and you can either omit or leave in the eggs - your call...

I would use the same amount of butter

Light tasting olive oil is not "lite" is has the same fat and calories as other oils. It just doesn't have a strong flavor.

I agree with the applesauce. Also lowfat or nofat mayo.

Seriously you won't taste it and your brownies will be very moist and yummy.
