Is this meal I created unhealthy?!

Question:

Is this meal I created unhealthy?

I just kind of created a meal.. VERY nice!!!

Alright so it was cooked non fatty mince with taco seasoning in a small bowl mixed along with a bit of grated cheese, avacado, tomato and 1/2 a tablespoon of sour cream?

How many calories do you think this would be?

Do you think its unhealthy, healthy or reasonable?

thanks!

Answers:
The taco seasoning surely has sugar listed somewhere high up in ordr of the ingredients. I imagine sodium content is very high, too. That, in itself, is rather unhealthy. Then you have three kinds of artery-clogging animal fats. The mince fat (there is no fat free mince, only leaner than super-fatty), sour cream, and cheese. The avocado has fat, BUT that fat has good enzymes, and is an unaltered plant fat, therefore good for you. The tomatoes are good for you.

I think it's perfectly reasonable, though. Everything is OK in moderate amounts, don't over analyse. Cheese and sour cream have calcium and protein, as does the meat. Just don't overdo the animal fats. Next time try a reduced fat cheese and swap sour cream for yoghurt or creme fraiche, and since you are seasoning the meat, anyway, try lean turkey mince or even soy mince. Add more veg, too, eat on a bed of lettuce! Add fresh garlic and onions (SO good for you). Maybe you can even find a simple recipe for taco seasoning online that uses less salt and no sugar instead of buying a prmixed version. You can make a whole bunch and then store it yourself fir future uses. I won't talk clories because you've forgone all the simple carbs. That's good, too. Furits and veg have all the carbs MOST people need.

don't know about the calories, i've never been or had to be a counter, but i think it sounds quite reasonable and tasty! i'd eat it plain, in a tortilla, on a bed of greens, with chips..........

Jazzy Geri:
mince - Ground beef, beef mince or hamburger meat, is a meat product, made of beef finely chopped by a meat grinder. In the New England region, it is commonly called Hamburg. It is called mince or mince meat outside North America.

I think it is very healthy, you havent overdone with the cheese and sour cream. Also avocado is a good "fat". Good on you.

you did a great job creating your meal.....I'd just add some green leafy salad ingredients.and some sliced onion..to balance it out...by the way what is MINCE....? thanks for telling me in advance....I love taco flavors....in fact I might have it tomorrow thanks for the question....LOL....one more thing eat some fruit too after you eat the other stuff...then it will be a very balanced meal.
Have a great day...hugs from Mama Jazzy Geri

i don't really have a clue but it kinda is healthy

Sounds pretty good, add some leaf lettuce and fruit for dessert.
A lot of people commented on the taco seasoning and I will too, but not as a health issue. Most taco seasoning is just a mix of red chile, garlic, salt and cumin-some add mexican oregano. It's cheaper to buy the spices and create your own.

Well, cheese is made from milk so it,s high in vit D. Avocado has high fat(good one) has vit B1,B2,B3,B5,B6,B9, Vit C, Iron, calsium, magnesium, phosphorus, potasium, zinc and of course carbohydrat. Tomato is high in Vit C And sour cream is made out of heavy cream which is high in fat, but you always can get light sourcream. I think that food is really healthy for you as long you don't sit on the couch all the time and eat whenever you're hungry (your tummy, not your eyes)

I think that sounds quite reasonable! definately yummy! i wouldn't say it was unhealthy because you've got some veg in there and protien and dairy! nice and balanced!
I have no idea what the calories (i'm not really a counter myself) but i shouldn't think it would be too bad! i might give it a go myself!

It sounds very healthy. The sodium in the taco seasoning is a bit of a concern. I would only use 1/2 a packet. Taste it and add more chili powder & cumin if needed or some taco sauce might add some moisture and flavor if needed. Sounds like an awesome dip.

Not at all. The Avacado has great vitimans for u. U took it easy on the sour cream. The only thing I would be concerned about is the pre made taco seasoning --- tend to be high in sodium and sometimes have MSG.

I do not think it is all that bad - as long as you do not do it every day. The mince is okay if it is not fried in loads of oil or butter and the cheese is a bit heavy on fat, but as it might have only been a small amount, again once in a while.

Avocado is a good fat food, and you would not do it too often.
