Is it true that bugs are made into our cereal?!

Question:

Is it true that bugs are made into our cereal?

My friend said that the wheat is not cleaned, and when they get the wheat, bugs live in it, and is made into our cereal. is this true?

Answers:
No matter when you buy the cereal, experts say, insect eggs are likely to be in it and you won't know you're eating them. Bill Ullman of Northeast Labs says if a person keeps a product for any length of time what started out as an egg could develop into a worm, moth or some flying insect. There may not be anything you can do about eating the insects, but you can cut your chances of finding them if you eat the cereal by the sell-by date. If you do find bugs you should take the cereal back to the store where you bought it.
.

i don't know, maybe but all company wash the wheat so don't worry

That's where the extra protein comes from, duh!

Sometimes. Wheat, corn, oats etc grow outside in large fields. It's impossible to keep insects out of it. Cereal makers have high quality standards for the grain they purchase but sometimes a batch might get thru that has bugs or bug eggs that hatch after the cereal has been processed.

The FDA is currently reviewing standards to determine what percentage of "un-organic" material can be put into food and still label it organic. Likewise, they have also come up with levels to determine how much rat poop, insect larvae et al can be mixed into foods and still come within guidelines to serve to the American Public. They are recently underfire regarding their lax standards in the lettuce industry.

This is partially true.

You aren't going to get a huge insect nest or any giant bugs in your Bran Flakes, but it is impossible to seed out every little bug.

that is kindof gross. r u talking about otmeal

not if you clean the wheat..........( :

yum!

This whole thing is GROSS!!!!!!
