1 cup rice - 2 cups water

When cooking rice it is always double the water in relation to the amount of rice

5 cups rice - 10 cups water etc....

Batchelor for many years

1 cup uncooked rice = 2 cups water

UNLESS...it's 5 minute rice, then you use equal amounts

2 cups of water per cup of rice!

The water should be approximately 1 inch above the top of your rice.

2 cups

2 parts to liquid to 1 part rice... if u have chicken or veg broth try that instead of water, gives the rice a little more flavor ;)

If it's instant rice, you use equal parts of rice to water.

If it's NOT instant rice, it's a 2 to 1 ratio - two parts liquid to one part rice.

2 cups of water for every cup of rice

If cooking for just yourself or a couple of people I suggest you try boiling bag rice. It's more expensive but you can't hurt it! L.O.L.! It is sooo easy! If you do cook regular rice, once you've begun the simmering process, do not touch lid til time to simmer is up, will make rice gummy if you do! Read directions on food packages. Will help you alot! I suggest this site to everyone: www.kraftfoods.com, Theres a section where they show you how to do different things like the basics.

Usually it is a 2:1 ratio of cups of water:cups of rice if you want steamed rice but if you are like me and don't like steamed rice then add another cup and a half of water and when the rice is cooked, strain it off in a colander (rice strainer).
