Pan-baked fish. Lay the cleaned fish on a bed of grated carrot and courgette, season with salt, black pepper, lemon or lime juice. Brush with plenty of butter or oil, cover and bake.
Baking times- 200C/400F/Gas6. Small whole fish or 225g/8oz cutlet. 10mins. 450g/1ib fish 20-25 mins.
900g/2lb fish 30 mins.
Foil-baked fish. Butter or oil the fish to prevent it sticking. Season the fish with salt, pepper, lemon juice and fresh herbs/dry herbs. Stuffed whole fish are usually baked in foil-the fish is protected while the stuffing has time to cook. So the seasoning etc, you put inside fish. The fish should feel firm to the touch when ready.
To Microwave. Best method to microwaving fish. Just add a little melted butter and some vegetable and herb flavourings. Cover and microwave on High(100%) allowing 4-6mins per 450g/1lb fish.Arrange whole fish-head to tail in an oval or oblong microwave-proof dish, shield the head and tail with small pieces of smooth foil to avoid over-cooking. Turn over, and re-arrange, halfway through micro-waving. Yummy!

It's yummy fried in a beer batter.

Go on to foodtv.com and search for cod under recipes. You'll find tons.

I have not cooked cod fish before, but I have made other forms of fish filets. Try checking out www.allrecipies.com, as they have a great array of recipies to select from.

When I cook fish, I typically sear the fish filet on both sides after seasoning them ( cook on both sides in small amount of hot oil until both sides are slightly white). Then, I remove the fish from the pan and add it to a baking sheet and continue cooking in the oven until complete ( typically no more than 15 minutes at 350 degrees). You'll know when the cod is finished cooking when the meat has become all white.

As for flavoring, adding salt and pepper can not only go a long way, but add great flavor to the fish. Should you add salt, though, know that it can draw out moisture from the fish, resulting in a drier outcome for the fish at the end of cooking. If you use salt to season your filets, it is best to add it towards the end of cooking.

Good luck!!

no and not planning 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fish is smelly

A great and simple recipe for cod is to put it in a shallow baking dish, add butter, salt and pepper to taste, as well as either lemon pepper spice or 2 tblsp of lemon juice. Bake at 350 degrees until the fish is done...usually about 35 to 45 mins or the fish flakes away with a fork. Serve with rice and asperegus or your choice of veggie...easy, simple, and cheap!

No not cod fish, flounder salmon, & whities, clean real good, season it with salt, pepper, season salt, add batter, flour or bread crumbs, and fry until golden brown or bake it...

Cod is one of the fishes most frequently used in fish and chips so battered and fried is pretty traditional. Cod is also good sauteed in butter and lemon juice.

yes i have.

don't know if it works for cod but my mom took red snapper, cooked it in a frying pan/skillet like chicken and shredded it up while it was cooking and added some lemon-pepper seasoning - yummy!

definitely beer battered and fried....broiling is another method for cod...hit is with some ovile oil...or melted butter...salt and fresh cracked pepper and broil it
