Answers:
Well you've been given the answers, but no suggestions. Having baked with most types I almost always use corn oil as it tend to add the least flavor (and who wants to taste the oil used in a cake). Canola would be my last choice (if I only had that or olive oil, which definitely doesn't work).

I'll give you one more tip. If you are ever stuck without oil you can substitute Hellman's Mayonnaise. (I say that brand as Kraft is too sweet etc). I used to have a chocolate cake recipe from scratch that used that instead of oil and it was SOOO moist. And the slight eggs in the mayo add a lil fluff too so good combo. You use the same amount called for instead of oil. And if you ever made cake mix cookies, it's really good in those too, as any oil seems to taste too oily with them. Not knowing what you have for oil, you might want to keep this option in mind.

BTW if you ever get stuck and need quick cookies you can use 1 pkg cake mix, 2 eggs, vanilla, and either a stick of butter or I can't believe it's not butter or half a cup of mayo.

Usually that means vegetable oil.

Use anything you have except olive oil. you can use...corn, canola, vegetable etc

vegetable oil, canola oil... other oils have strong taste to them like...olive oil.

vegetable

you can use vegtable oil or corn oil either one will be fine but when i cook cupcakes i use corn oil and not to toot my own horn but my cupcakes are great!!!

I found Rotella straight 30 is best.
