Go forth and search " two people recipes ", there are at least 5 different sites that have free information.

Cooking For Two By "companys coming' IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVE!!

Cooking For Two offers handy, small portion recipes to suit the needs of one or two people―avoiding unwanted leftovers. It’s a great cookbook for empty nesters, college students, newlyweds and anyone else in a smaller household. The variety of recipes range from appetizers and beverages to dinners, bread and desserts, making this a handy cookbook to keep nearby. By using smaller pan sizes, smaller ingredient proportions, and by dividing prepared ingredients such as canned vegetables and soups in half, each recipe comes up with just the right serving to suit everyone’s appetite.

I have the same problem, especially since I like cooking for people, but I'm too much of a neat-freak to live with anyone I know. Most recipes can be halved with no problem. If you go to someplace like http://www.allrecipes.com, they have a feature that will automatically adjust recipes to the number of servings you select.

Here's a link for some specific recipes from about.com:

I actually prefer allrecipes because the site allows users to rate recipes, so you can avoid the duds.

I tend to cook a lot and freeze the rest for busy periods. This is a great guide from Charlotte Brennand:

It has some recipes plus it explains the best ways to store extra food.

VEAL CHOP WITH RADICCHIO, WHITE BEANS, AND ROSEMARY
Start to finish: 30 min
serving size
Makes 1 serving.
ingredients
2 garlic cloves
3/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 (1/2-inch-thick) loin veal chop (7 oz)
5 oz radicchio, leaves torn into 2- to 3-inch pieces (3 cups)
1/3 cup canned small white beans, rinsed and drained
2 teaspoons red-wine vinegar
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
preparation
Mince 1 garlic clove and mash to a paste with 1/4 teaspoon salt, then transfer to a shallow bowl. Stir in 1 tablespoon oil, 1/4 teaspoon rosemary, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add veal and turn once or twice to coat.

Heat remaining tablespoon oil in a 12-inch heavy skillet over moderate heat until hot but not smoking, then cook veal, turning over once, until golden and just cooked through, 6 to 7 minutes total. Transfer veal to a plate.

Finely chop remaining garlic clove and add to skillet, then cook over moderate heat, stirring, until golden, about 30 seconds. Add radicchio and beans and cook, stirring, until radicchio begins to wilt, about 2 minutes. Add vinegar and cook until most of vinegar is evaporated. Whisk together broth and cornstarch, then add to bean mixture and boil, scraping up brown bits, until sauce is thickened slightly and about two thirds of liquid is evaporated, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1/4 teaspoon rosemary, 1/8 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Serve veal with radicchio and beans.

take any cook book recipe for 4 and divide in two!
But seriously, when cooking for two there's always the classic:
Cesar salad prepared table side
a very nice red wine, like a Merlot
Broiled rib eye steak
Baked potato with all the extras
Creme brule and coffee

I will often cook enough for 4 and then divide it into helpings, for other days.
I don't make the basic too spicy so that it can be transformed next time.
So a basic mince and vegetables base, can be curried one night, a chili another night and so on.
I just freeze them like TV dinners or those ready meals. I often look at those meals when I do my shopping to get inspiration for my own meals.

Hi,
Try going to www.savingdinner.com to find recipes and shopping lists for two.

Leanne Ely is a nutrishinest and has great recipes from low carb, vegetarian, crock pot, heart healthy etc and they come with a shopping list. She even has collections for make ahead and freeze foods.

Almost all of her recipe plans can be purchased for 2, 4 or 6 people.

Good luck and happy dining
